TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Evans, Treasurer, Royal Society
Date31 July 1891
DescriptionRix reports that the firm they used to sell their waste paper to went bankrupt, but that the new firm they hired 'have proved to be swindlers'. He states that they took a load of newspapers away two months ago to weigh them, but he cannot get the money from the firm, though he estimates their value at 25 to 30 shillings. The company is based at Mile End, and Rix has written on numerous occasions without a response.

He asks Evans for advice about what else they can do, and asks that if anything can be done that Evans give Mr James instructions.
