Description | Rix states that the defective meters, used to indicate gas consumption by the engine, were detached by Pearson and sent for repair. Although they were returned a few weeks previously and Pearson had agreed to attach them, he put the matter off and then left without having done it. Rix therefore asks that they either have them fixed or advise as to whom they should apply.
He further states that they are concerned by the late hours of driving the engine, which their man states cannot be done by 6pm. Rix understands that the cells of the Society of Antiquaries are in such poor condition that they will not supply sufficient light unless the engine is driven until late in the evening, particularly on Saturdays and Mondays. Rix would be obliged if anything can be done to keep the driving within their usual working hours, which end at 6pm. |
