Description | Rix notes that he has not been very successful in getting all the bills in this year, and so sends a batch of eight cheques to be signed.
He states that there is no difficulty with signing the cheque for Williams & Norgate as the sum comes from the £400 the Library Committee are authorised to spend. Those for Messrs Harrison & Sons and Mr Collings should have passed through Council, so Evans can judge whether to sign them to show a correct balance, or wait until next session's Council meeting. Rix hopes that Collings's will be signed, as he is short of money and Rix had to loan ten pounds to him to allow him to pay his men - this explains why there are two cheques, one of which is open.
The remainder are the usual annual cheques, and so could wait until next Thursday, but which Rix notes it would be more convenient to receive before, as the accounts close that day. |
