TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to G H Pinsent
Date15 May 1914
DescriptionHas his letter of yesterday. Harrison regards the circular letter of Messrs Maull & Fox as a great impertinence to Mr Asquith and the Royal Society. That firm has no official authority whatever to suggest, as their circular does, that they have an official commission from the Royal Society to take photographs of its Fellows. It is true that there is an album in which all photographs of the Fellows are put, and that Maull & Fox from time to time send batched of photographs of Fellows as they have induced to sit them. But this is the beginning and end of the connection.

Harrison is writing to protest against the form in which they issue their circular which in itself is a modification of a still worse thing he had to complain of some years ago. Harrison will be very glad to have a photograph of Asquith to put in the album if he has one to spare.

The Committee this week agreed upon their recommendations with regard to the two cases he sent recently, namely those of Mrs Baker and the children of Dr Hunting. Both recommendations are favourable.
