TitleCopy letter from John Rose Bradford, to The Secretary, Board of Agriculture and Fisheries
Date3 July 1914
DescriptionTheir letter of 30 June asking if the Royal Society would be prepared to superintend an independent research into the pathology of Swine fever was laid before the President and Council yesterday and they are willing to accept the invitation of the President of the Board of Agriculture to superintend independent research into the disease on the understanding that the necessary funds will be provided by the Board and that every facility for the investigation will be afforded.

The President and Council have nominated a committee to prepare a scheme of investigation in the matter. This committee will endeavour to formulate an approximate estimate before 23 July, and will be prepared to supervise and control the enquiry. While Fellows will give their services on the committee gratuitously, President and Council consider that it would be reasonable to ask the Board to defray travelling expenses of those gentlemen who may have to come up to London for the purpose of the meetings.
