Title | Copy letter from John Rose Bradford, to Major D Harvey |
Date | 9 July 1914 |
Description | Harvey's letter of 11 June has been under consideration, and Bradford has endeavoured to trace the history of the publications to which he refers. An enquiry has also be made to Sir David Bruce on the subject.
Regarding paragraph four of his letter, there must have been some misunderstanding; it is quite certain that no recommendation of Bruce relating to the papers under reference was overruled by the Royal Society. Bruce informs Bradford that Harvey's name was not included in the titles of these papers because at the time they were sent in he had left the Commission, and his place having being taken by Captain Watson, his name was substituted.
The Commission is regarded as a whole and the work which it carried out has been looked upon throughout as a joint investigation. Consequently, when a change takes place it is indicated in the titles of any papers sent in. |
