Some of the available referees for your paper were exceptionally busy in consequence of the war, and the reports came in very slowly. There are some points on which I shall have to write to you before the paper can be published but I was anxious to get an additional opinion before doing so.
I regret the delay, but it was due to a succession of unavoidable causes and to some divergence of opinion.' |
