DescriptionReply to an earlier enquiry from Henry Vincent Aird Briscoe Esquire. Informs him that 1) works chemists are a Reserved Occupation, however, fall under the Military Service Act and are therefore independent from the Royal Society, 2) the Society has had no intimation that the group described as 'analytical, consulting and research chemists' is restricted to chemists in private practice, and 3) the Society can not divulge their opinion on whether or not they think a Local Tribunal is acting beyong its powers.
