The author explains that the invitation to the conference had been personally posted by him and as such there seemed to have been a miscarrige of post as the invitation was never received by The Royal Agricultural Society. The author also explains that the conference was only a preliminary discussion and that there will be opportunity for The Royal Agricultural Society to be represented at future deliberations.
