TitleCopy letter from Dr. Arthur Schuster, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Mrs Hopkinson, Mother of Bertram Hopkinson, FRS
Date27 March 1919
DescriptionThanks Mrs Hopkinson for her kind offer to bear the expense of reproducing the portrait which it is intended to insert the Obituary Notice of her late son Bertram. Informs her that it is the Society's usual practice to insert such portraits by a process that typically costs £8. However, they have also obtained estimates for a photgravure reproduction which amounts to £22.7.6, but would no doubt be more permanent. Notes that, if Mrs Hopkinson is still happy to pay the difference between these two processes, he will lay the matter before Council.
