TitleCopy letter from Sir William Bate Hardy, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir William Leishman, FRS
Date20 November 1919
DescriptionAdvises that the referee has advised against publication of a paper by Fearis, describing the work as immature. The referee suggests returning it to the author so he can continue with his research and present more finished results at a later point. Sir William Bate Hardy says he has read the paper and agrees, and results are stated without critical evaluation of the evidence on which they are based. Asks Sir William Leishman, FRS, if under the circumstances he would like to withdraw the paper.
