DescriptionThe President of the Royal Society [Sir Joseph John Thomson, PRS] wrote to the Prince of Wales [Edward VIII] asking him for a date for his admittance into the Royal Society, and he has responded with 22 January 3.30pm. The President, [Sir William Bate] Hardy, FRS, [Secretary of the Royal Society] and Sir James Hopwood Jeans, FRS, think it best to call a special meeting of the Royal Society on the 22 January at 3.30, moving the Council meeting to the morning. Requests Sir David Prain contact them by the following day if he has any objection.
