TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Frederick Ransome, 42 Melbourne Grove, East Dulwich
Date21 October 1892
DescriptionThere is nothing irregular in Professor Thorpe buying 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' at the reduced price for the Franklin Institute. Thorpe cannot buy the last five years at a reduction, nor any parts of which the Society has less than 100, but the Society has more than 100 of all except the earlier advertised volumes. Rix cannot find that they Society has any list of what the Franklin Institute wants but if Ransome provides a list they can say definitely what the one-third price would amount to.
