Description | In reply to Hooke's letter of 29 October 8651, an account of the results which will form a second Report of the Water Research Committee are so far advanced that the report itself may be expected shortly.
The Committee agree with the Council as to the great desirability of making known to the Royal Commission as early as possible, the conclusions at which they may arrive. Foster shall doubtless be directed to forward a copy of the Report to the Commission but, it is unnecessary to remind Hooke that in experimental inquiries the exact time at which the results can be announced must necessarily depend on the course of the observations and experiments, and not on the will of the inquirers. |
