TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]
Date20 May 1892
DescriptionDr [Michael] Foster wishes Rix to consult with Rayleigh on two points. Firstly whether they should set up Major Darwin's paper in full or in abstract for the next meeting, and Rix encloses the abstract herewith [not attached]. Secondly Captain [William de Wiveleslie] Abney, it appears, has not had the report set up in 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' type. Dr Foster thinks that, rather than incur the delay and expense of printing it afresh for the 'Proceedings' they had better use the type now standing and put up with the difference of appearance between that and the rest of the volume, but Foster wishes for Rayleigh's opinion before proceeding. Encloses circulars and extracts from reports [not attached].

There is a paper by Messrs [Wyndham Rowland] Dunstan and [John Theodore] Cash pencilled on the Committee minutes, Rix has not seen this manuscript and asks if it is to arrive presently.
