Howorth for letting him and Mr. Robinson [Libary Assistant of the Royal Society] look over books belonging to Howarth's late father [Sir Henry Hoyle Howorth], and taking away 20 for the Library and one each for personal use. White took La Quattrocento by P. Monnier (1908) for himself as a memento of Howorth's father, with Howorth's kind permission. Makes notes on other books in Howorth's collection that the Library might like ('The Mammoth and the Flood' and 'The Glacial Nightmare'), and thanks Howorth profusely for his generosity and courtesy.
