DescriptionInforms the Secretary that the Royal Society's interest in the British Empire Cancer Campaign lies in the scientific direction of any enquiries into the cause and nature of cancer, not the financial administration of the campaign, and that they would like to co-operate in the nomination of a Scientific Advisory Committee. Gives two conditions for the committee: that its body is constituted in a way that means it is most equipped for the purpose, and that the decisions of the Committee will not be set aside by any other body. Also makes clear that all matter issued to the public that mentions the Royal Society must first be approved by the Scientific Advisory Committee, that a majority of its members should be appointed by the Royal Society and the Medical Research Council, and that all questions relating to scientific research should be submitted to the Scientific Advisory Committee. Arranges a conference, and asks whether 3rd or 10th of January suits best.
