TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [Sydney] Chapman, FRS
Date15 January 1925
DescriptionInforms Professor [Sydney] Chapman that the paper 'The Electric Capacity of Certain Solids of Revolution' by Dr [Dorothy Maud] Wrinch and the paper 'Laplace's Equation and the Inversion of Surfaces of Revolution' by Wrinch and [John William] Nicholson were both sent to [Horace] Lamb for review, but that Lamb refuses to be the referee, because he has from previous papers 'formed a thoroughly unfavourable opinion of Dr Wrinch's work and would therefore approach a new paper with bias'. Asks Chapman to suggest a new referee.
