TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Dualau & Company, 37 Soho Square, W. and Mr Edwards
Date20 June 1893
DescriptionThe Royal Society library has a number of series of transactions, journals, literary, philosophical and historical works which have a literary as well as a scientific side. These amount to some hundreds of volumes mostly bound in half-calf. The Library Committee has decided to get rid of all these in order to make room for the Scientific Works. Some the Society shall give away but most they shall probably sell. Rix writes to ask if his correspondents would make a bid for them or if not whether they can tell him the most likely bookseller that would. Asks for a reply by 10am on Thursday when a decision will be made.
