TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date9 March 1893
DescriptionRix understands from Dr [Marc Armand Ruffer] Ruffer that he sent Foster the original manuscript of the Virchow Lecture. If so, Rix asks it to be sent on to the Society as they want it for reference and preservation in the archive.

The 'Journal of Morphology' which Foster instructed Rix to order, was a quite recent publication and accordingly he ordered the back parts. Rix now finds he was misinformed and that seven volumes have been published and therefore he has let the Society in for a bill of £16. He wonders if Foster will obtain exoneration from the Library Committee.

Wonders if he should regard the abstracts of Prestwich and Boyce and Surveyor as 'safe' for communication to journals. From what Mr Topley said, he suspects Prestwich is 'rather shaky'.
