| Description | Rix has noticed from Foster's minutes that the Council made an apparent error, as he points out that the Imperial Institute's Constitution states that the Royal Society's representative should be a member of Council. Sir Archibald Geikie will cease to be a member of Council on the 30 November, and so Rix asks if this was an oversight or not.
He also encloses a letter for the Imperial Institute and a copy of a section from their Constitution. In a postscript, Rix states that he cannot be sure whether it is sufficient that Geikie should be a member of Council when appointed, so he thought he should query it. In another postscript, he reports that the Treasurer has just been in, and he thinks the section from the Constitution means that the representative should resign when he ceases to be a member of Council. |
