TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date6 November 1893
DescriptionRix informs him that Spencer Walpole is the new Secretary to the Post Office, and that they have sent him a card, as well as one to Sir A Kembell, and the Netherlands Minister, as one medallist is Dutch [Professor Jacobus Hendrik van 't Hoff]. He supposes the minister will not be invited to the afternoon meeting until they have heard from the medallist himself.

He also reports that Foster is mistaken in saying that he did not have the Imperial Institution regulations before him at Council, as the letter and regulations were both in his portfolio, with the relevant section of the regulations marked in pencil by Rix. He has omitted the minute.
