TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Michael Foster, [Secretary, Royal Society]
Date10 July 1893
DescriptionRix explains that the "house-alteration Committee' will not meet until Wednesday week, as Mr Keen has been instructed, and that the plans will not be ready until that time.

He states that the gangway must be begun at the same time as the rest of the work, as a piecemeal approach would cost more. It is stated that work may not begin until the return of Mr Kennedy from holiday on 7 August, and further, that the Society has lent the meeting-room for two evenings that month. Mr Keen is noted as having already taken measurements for the plans, and is examining old plans to identify the locations of gas and water pipes. Rix has set Kennedy to work on the rough trestles.

Rix also asks that Foster give him Dr Gilbert's address as soon as possible, so that he may hurry the illuminators.
