| Description | Rix reports that William Turner Thiselton Dyer was put down for an obituary of De Candolla, and having written to remind him of this, encloses his reply. He wonders whether what Dyer says is true, or whether he has forgotten, and asks what he should do. Sir William Flower's obituary of Sir Richard Owen has arrived.
With relation to Hill, he has crossed the entry from the Register and from the Journal Book; has written to the editor of the Athenaeum to erase it from the account of last week's meeting; has altered the list of papers for next time, and has taken note for the Times advertisement. He therefore hopes that 'it is as if it had not been!'.
A postscript refers to the fact that Sir James Paget has had the obituary of Sir P J Hewitt for nearly a year, and he wants to know if Foster might let the matter slide. |
