TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Horace White, Philosophical Library, New Museums, Cambridge
Date11 April 1894
Description'Dear Sir,
I am afraid I wrote rather vaguely in my letter of April 3rd. The Minute of Council was, to accept your offer of "Index to the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' since 1830 and of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' from their commencement at the rate of £5 for every thousand titles". The matter is not so pressing, I imagine, but that we can wait for a week or two until you have finished the revision. If you can then send us the number of the slips and a specimen of the work (not the whole batch), we shall be in a position to obtain at any rate preliminary estimates.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
