TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Miss M J Bremner, Poste Restante, St Aubin's, Jersey
Date27 April 1894
DescriptionRix reports that Miss Chambers handed him her note of 25 April, and explains that the work is not precisely 'library work' but is the cataloguing of the titles of papers in journals. The hours are 10-5; the holidays are two weeks in the summer; and the pay is set at between 60 and 70 pounds according to acquirements.

He asks that if she returns to London before May 10th that she call at the Royal Society at 4pm to see their Treasurer, if she wishes to become a candidate for the post. If her tour will not be over before then, Rix suggests it would not be worthwhile to return on that account alone, and they can perhaps form a judgement from the information she sends to them. In any case, he asks that she write before the 10th to let him know if her candidature should stand.
