TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Professor Edward Singleton Holden, Director of Lick Observatory
Date16 March 1894
Description'Dear Sir,
The President & Council of the Royal Society, feeling that adequate use could not be made of the Photographs of the Solar Eclipse, which you kindly presented to the Society some time past ^if^ they were retained in the Society's apartments, have ventured to place them in the hands of Mr H F [Hugh Frank] Newall for the use of the Newall Telescope at Cambridge, where they will be highly appreciated. They trust that this use of your gift will be agreeable to yourself.
Yours truly
(signed) M Foster'.
