TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Alfred W Dollond, Huntley Villa, Nether Street, North Finchley
Date29 May 1894
Description'Dear Sir,
The meeting of Council, at which your kind offer of the bust of George Dollond, F.R.S. [Fellow of the Royal Society], was announced has only just been held. I was on the eve of writing to inform you that the offer is accepted with many thanks. We are obliged to you for so kindly arranging to deliver the bust next Thursday. If it can come on the morning of that day*, we should have an opportunity of exhibiting it to the Fellows at their afternoon meeting. You will perhaps be too busy with your moving operations to attend the meeting, but if you are able to do so, I need hardly say you will be exceedingly welcome.
I am, yours faithfully,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]

* from 4 to 6.30 our whole staff will be much driven, & it would be awkward to have to take in the bust just at that hour'.
