| Description | Rix cannot see an objection to the Society [for the Preservation of the Monuments of Ancient Egypt] using their meeting room, provided they do not want tea, as the Council will be meeting at that time. Professor Vines declines to serve on the Catalogue Sub-Committee and has suggested D H Scott in his stead.
Rix has not sent Foster's letter about the Board of Works to Francis Galton, as he does not know which letter he means. There are two which should have come before Council, but he does not know if both came forward or just one. He requests a quarter of an hour with Foster on Wednesday to discuss some serious matters about illustrations; one of which is Marshall Ward's, who will also be present. Rix is also keeping back for signature on Wednesday, the letter to the Local Government Board, as Foster has not said if it is to go to the Secretary or the Chief Medical Officer.
He assumes that Foster has already written to Sir George Gabriel Stokes and Professor Horsley[?] about Hallis [?].
In an annotation about the letter, Rix also asks if he may authorise two cuts in Professor Bonney's paper. |
