TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]
Date17 July 1894
DescriptionUpdates on matters of Royal Society business.

Rix is sending William de Wiveleslie Abney a copy of the Treasury letter.
He has not heard from Foster regarding who is to go to Buda-Pesth.
He has no letter from Foster regarding the Lavoisier Memorial, and asks if Foster has sent the letter direct to Hinriche.
He has not heard from Foster who is to go to Gottingen.
He asks if Foster has written to Francis Galton about the Soirée programme.
The Society for Preservation of Monuments of Ancient Egypt meets at the Royal Society the next day, but Rix has not yet had a draft letter from Foster in accordance with the minutes.
Rix notes that nothing has yet been done about Joseph Williams Lovibond, and he notes that 26 pounds and six shillings amount is not noted as cost price, and so he suggests that at first they write a letter such as the enclosed draft [NLB/9/831], and that if he approves he signs it.
He also encloses a letter to the Master of the Mint for signature if approved [NLB/9/829].
Rix asks how soon the separate copies of Professor Hartley's paper will be ready as he wants to know. He further notes that 30 copies are to be sent to him at The Ham, Wittingham, Tunbridge Wells, with the remainder to go to the address that Hartley has already given.
