TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Walter Noel Hartley, Fellow of the Royal Society, The Ham, Withyham, near Tunbridge Wells
Date20 July 1894
Description'Dear Professor Hartley,
I hope Harrisons have now sent you the 30 copies of your paper: it was published yesterday. The plates are very nice, but the Officers are not inclined to go to the expense of another plate by the same firm. It would cost nearly three times as much as a spectrum plate, copy of which I send by this post. This is for a paper by Prof. [Professor Joseph Norman] Lockyer, and I shall be obliged if you will return it. Will you at the same time say whether you would be content with a plate of that kind? Mr Lockyer appears to be highly pleased with it.
I am, yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
