DescriptionPress cuttings and other printed information concerning the Royal Society and its Fellows. Compiled by the organisation's staff. Other content is on various topics, notably reports on the British Astronomical [Eclipse] Expedition to Grenada (pp.27-32), the bicentenary of the publication of Newton's Principia (pp.42-43) and the sale of relics connected with James Cook from Sir Joseph Banks's home at Soho Square (p.44). Some illustrations, including a caricature of a meeting at the Royal Institution (p.15) with a manuscript key to the scientists and others attending (p.15). There is an inserted part-number of the journal 'All Past Time...' with the article 'The Bubble Bursting! Is the Royal Society scientific or theoretic?' The volume contains extensive court reporting of Warburton v. Childs, Hobson and Moss, involving part of a disputed estate due to the Royal Society (pp.3-14). Letters to the editors of the various newspapers are also collected. A manuscript index appears at the end of the volume.

Generally, the cuttings are attributed to the source newspaper and dated in manuscript. The volume contains a few blank pages and the original manuscript pagination omits these blanks.
