'Celebration of the centenary of the reading of the paper 'On the tendency of species to form varieties, and on the perpetuation of varieties and species by natural means of selection' ', by Charles Robert Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace. The catalogue commences with a note of the Reception by the three Presidents of the Societies, notes on refreshments, the display of the Royal Society's mace and Charter Book, and floral decorations by the Director of the Royal Botanic gardens, Kew.

34 exhibits of paintings, books, manuscripts and museum objects are listed in the official catalogue, each entry with a descriptive text. Arranged by each Society's rooms. Ackowledgements appear at the end of the catalogue, including thanks from the Societies' Darwin-Wallace Centenary Celebrations Committee, to a list of the owners of the materials on display.
