DescriptionBrief listing of exhibits and exhibitors at the Royal Society's annual displays at Burlington House, London, with descriptive text. Arranged by rooms, Rooms 1-6 and Meeting Room. Commencing with notes that guests would be received by the President, that films would be shown during the evening, and an acknowledgement that 'By the courtesy of the President and Council of the Geological Society, their rooms have been opened for this occasion'. The catalogue of exhibits begins with a disclaimer: 'The descriptions of Exhibits in this Catalogue are supplied by the Exhibitors, who alone are responsible for their accuracy'. Title page (front cover) text and Royal Society coat-of-arms printed in red.

Room 1:

1. Fast multiple frame photography, exhibited by Dr, J. S. Courtney-Pratt, Research Laboratory for the Physics and Chemistry of Surfaces, Department of Physical Chemistry, Cambridge.
2. The action of detergent solutions on soiled textile fibres, exhibited by Mr. D. G. Stevenson, British Launderers' Research Association.

Room 3 (Reception Room):

The Mace of the Royal Society presented by King Charles II in 1663.
The Charter Book of the Royal Society which contains the signatures of the Royal Patrons and of the Fellows of the Society.
Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica, by Isaac Newton. Original manuscript in the hand of Humphrey Newton, an amanuensis. Recently restored and rebound by the Public Record Office.
Floral exhibit, by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Room 4:

9. An opposed pair of bicycle ergometers, exhibited by Mr. B. C. Abbott, Mr. J. M. Ritchie, University College, London.
10. The ruling and copying of diffraction gratings, illustrating an investigation suggested by Sir Thomas Merton, Treas. R.S., exhibited by the National Physical Laboratory (Light Divison).
