Description | Descriptions of the contents of Royal Society exhibitions (termed conversaziones, or soirees) for the early part of the decade of the 1960s. The events were traditionally held in May and June of each year. Sixties conversaziones were often themed for special events, notably the Royal Society's Trecentenary celebrations. There is a typed contents list at the beginning of the volume. The catalogues contain brief numbered descriptions of displays and their exhibitors, arranged room-by-room, in Burlington House, London. The programmes have a distinctive title-page with standard information on the event, venue and date, with the name of the then-Royal Society President and an engraved image of the Royal Society's coat of arms. |
