| Description | Nunn writes: 'With one exception all investigators appear to have taken it for granted that the enamel of vertebrate teeth is formed by the "enamel cells" of the "enamel organ". This view has been so universally accepted that few writers upon the teeth have thought it worthwhile to give any reason for their opinion.'
