Description | Plate 19, figures 1-9 showing nine views of legs from the yellow saw-fly [Cimbex lutea] at x100, x400, and x1600 magnification. The paintings are inscribed above with publication and plate details, the latter repeated. Signed lower left 'Franz Bauer'. Royal Society stamp verso, with an inscription in ink: 'Figs. 1, 2, 3 are magnified 100 times. Figs. 4, 5, 6, 7 - 400 times and Figs. 8, 9, - 1600 times.'
