Description | Graphite drawing of a woman posed for a portrait. Two flaps covering the lower half of the woman's face offer different positioning of the woman's face in relation to her eyes depending on which flap is folded out. Includes graphite emendations to the drawing. Only the view with all flaps folded in was published in Philosophical Transactions as Plate XI.
