DescriptionThe first of two volumes of the manuscript versions of papers published by the Royal Society in volume 130 of 'Philosophical Transactions', covering papers I-XIX. The second volume is located at PT/24. A note at the beginning of this volume indicates that papers IV-VII, X, XII, and XIV are missing.

The volume includes some original illustrations and figures drawn in ink in support of the papers.

Missing from this volume are manuscripts for the following papers:
'Experimental researches in electricity.—Seventeenth series' by Michael Faraday;
'Contributions to terrestrial magnetism' by Edward Sabine;
'A Supplement to a paper entitled “Remarks on the theory of the dispersion of lights, as connected with polarization.”' by Baden Powell;
'Additional note to the eleventh series of researches on the tides' by William Whewell;
'An account of the shooting stars of 1095 and 1243' by Francis Palgrave;
'Researches in physical geology.—second series' by William Hopkins;
'The Bakerian lecture.— On the theoretical explanation of an apparent new polarity in light' by George Biddell Airy; and
'Researches on the tides. —Twelfth series. On the laws of the rise and fall of the sea's surface during each tide' by William Whewell.
