Description | Plate 1 showing a chart of observations of high water times from Brest [Brittany, France], Plymouth [Devon, England], Portsmouth [Hampshire, England], Sheerness [Kent, England], and London Dock. The published plate also included observations from Saint Helena. Inscribed with publication and plate details. Ink inscription below chart reads 'In these curves, the abscissa represents the time of the Moon's transit, and the ordinate the corresponding time of High Water.' Not signed. Large watermark showing a woman within an oval topped with a crown, a shield bearing St George's cross at her side. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.
