Description | Plate 5 showing a view of the gizzard of the southern cassowary [Casuarius casuarius] of New South Wales, Australia. The work is inscribed above with publication and plate details in ink, repeated in pencil. Inscribed 'N.S.W. Cassowary 4 inches to a foot' lower right, with the plate number repeated again. Not signed; the note 'del.' appears lower left but is not completed. Royal Society stamp verso.
