Title | Letter from Thomas Edward Thorpe, on his paper with J W Rodger 'On the relations between the viscosity (internal friction) of liquids and their chemical nature.—Part II' to the Secretary of the Royal Society |
Date | 14 December 1896 |
Description | Thanks the Committee for their decision to publish the paper in Philosophical Transactions. He agrees that the comparisons between the observed and calculated values are given in too much details. He also agrees that the chemical section is a break in the continuity of the paper and it should be made an appendix instead. He is sorry that it has taken six months to deal with the paper, as he had hoped it would be published before the 'Long Vacation'. As it has been delayed the work has since been anticipated by Heydweiler, who published his similar work a month ago in Widemann's Annlen.
