Title | Referee's report by Oliver Lodge, on three papers 'The continuity of effect of light and electric radiation on matter', 'On the similarities between radiation and mechanical strains', and 'On the strain theory of photographic action' by Jagadis Chunder Bose |
Date | 4 June 1901 |
Description | Sectional committee: [Physics and chemistry]
He returns the papers herewith [not attached] and sends his own notes with them so that they may be available for the use of the Committee if wished for. He does not wish his notes communicated to the author as they are too brief and blunt, and would like them returned. He questions various assertions in the manuscripts and asks for justification on various points as well as for greater experimental detail. Though he queries particular points he does not assert if he thinks each of the papers should, or should not, be published in the Philosophical Transactions.
['On the continuity of effect of light and electric radiation on matter' published in Proceedings of the Royal Society, 1902]. ['On the similarities between radiation and mechanical strain' published in Proceedings of the Royal Society, 1902]. ['On the strain theory of photographic action' published in Proceedings of the Royal Society, 1902].
