Title | Referee's report by Charles Thomas Heycock, on a paper 'The thermo-chemistry of the alloys of copper and zinc' by T J Baker, |
Date | January 1901 |
Description | Sectional committee: Physics and Chemistry
Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. Asks if it would be possible to condense the portion dealing with the heat of solution in chlorine water and nitric acid as no use is made of this in the final conclusions. The first two pages might be recast and expressions such as 'a reference to our ignorance of the heat' removed. One small curve is used and should be reproduced. Regards this as a piece of careful work and a substantial addition to knowledge of the nature of alloys. If the experiments are continued with other alloys it would be advisable to be more careful regarding the previous history of the alloy.
