Title | Referee's report by Thomas George Bonney, on a paper 'A method for the investigation of fossils by serial sections' by William Johnson Sollas |
Date | 10 June 1903 |
Description | Sectional Committee: Geology
Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. The two views of the machine represented in the photographs should be given. It would probably be better to have engraved drawings for the photographs rather than reproductions of the latter. If the paper stood alone, publication in Proceedings would suffice, but it forms a natural introduction to the paper on Palaeospondylus, which accompanies it, and marks a very great advance in knowledge. As far as Bonney knows the method is novel and cannot fail to lead to most important discoveries.
