Title | Referee's report by William Davidson Niven, on an unnamed paper by George Udny Yule |
Date | January 1906 |
Description | According to the author a well conditioned contingency table should show symptoms of what he names 'isotropy' for which he has given a test. The test of the paper must have been given in some of Yule's previous work but Niven can find no trace of it in Yule's two 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' memoirs. If new it is presented in an arbitrary fashion Is inclined to recommend publication subject to the withdrawal of the table at the end of the paper, the substance of which might be stated in general terms, as indeed in two cases the author has himself done in footnotes. |
