William Edward Curtis has asked him to return the corrected proof. Requests a few copies of the paper, one of which he plans to send to M Mokhtar in Egypt. Hopes an abstract outlining the scope, but not the results, of the work can be published in the Proceedings at the present time, in order to 'stake a claim' on the work, as similar work is being conducted in America. Encloses list of Government officials and institutes which may be interested in the work.
Related handwritten note with numbers by list of institutions, calculating total number of print copies of the paper. Total of 39 calculated. On reverse of note is abstract for a paper 'The chromatic behaviour of the eel (Anguilla vulgaris L.)' by H Waring, Communicated by Lancelot Hogben [DOI: 10.1098/rspb.1940.0015 Vol.128 1940].
