TitleReferee's report by William Maddock Bayliss, on a paper 'Mechanical and electrical response in plants' by Jagadis Chunder Bose
DateMarch 1904
DescriptionSectional Committee: Botany and Physiology

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions', an abstract would not be of much value. References to quoted papers should be given. All the illustrations should be reproduced since they greatly facilitate understanding and many are of considerable interest in themselves. The value of the paper would have been increased if more attention had been directed to previous work, particularly that of Pfeffer, Haberland, Czapk and Nemec and the relationship of the new facts described to those already known pointed out. Since however the work is essentially new this is perhaps not a serious fault.
