Reid expresses his opinion on Bose's paper in its amended form. He thinks greater condensation is still desirable and that this should be insisted upon before publication. Reid discusses a reference by Bose in his new manuscript to a paper published in Proceedings titled 'On the electromotive wave accompanying mechanical disturbance in metals in contact with electrolyte'. Bose quotes a paragraph from this paper that does not actually appear in the printed paper and Reid queries how this has come to be. [Annotated by Joseph Larmor regarding this point] Reid also finds that the reference to Dr Waller's work in a particular part of Bose's paper is still unsatisfactory. Reid does not consider the statement in Bose's letter of the 10 August 1903, that a "very full historical sketch has been given" is justified in the manuscript as it presently stands. Page E of the manuscript may be deleted as it is in the main a repetition of the title page summary. Regarding the question of the publication of the abstract in Proceedings. Reid considers here again that full credit must be given to the work of other investigations in the same field before this is done. Reid thinks the original title of Bose's paper should be retained.
