Not recommended for publication in Proceedings. Modification and illustrations are not discussed. The whole of the experimental details and reproduction of the microphotographs have already appeared in 'Nature' for 25 May 1905. The author's conclusions that the aggregates are organised bodies are not justified by the facts adduced, and his philosophical reflections on the origin of life are quite beside the question. The phenomena admit of an explanation of a more simple nature, without assuming that he has witnessed a true case of abiogenesis.
